In 2022 the activity surrounding Sonic was phenomenal, following the release of the second Sonic the Hedgehog film and Sonic Origins, a video game compilation featuring remasters of the first four platform games in the series, originally released in the 90s

 

In late 2022, Sonic Prime - a brand new animation series - launched on Netflix, along with Sonic Frontiers – a 3D platformer and action-adventure game.

 

Sonic has also entered into collaborations with other gaming giants including Roblox, Minecraft and Fall Guys. A new animated Knuckles spinoff series will premiere on Paramount Plus, with Knuckles to be voiced by Idris Elba!
